The Harwich Festival ispleased to announce the return of the 20cm x 20cm Open Exhibition – Back bypopular demand.
The Exhibition was devisedby Andy Howell in 2016 and has proven to be so popular it has run every yearsince attracting and displaying more than 1500 submissions in the process.
Roger Hamer – chairman ofthe Harwich Festival Visual Arts Panel said that the exhibition ‘has proved tobe hugely popular because it is completely open, there is no selection! In thepast we have had paintings by professional artists being hung next to pieces bybudding draftspersons of the great age of three. Some contributors have said that they usedthe 20cm by 20cm format to experiment with compositions or techniques beforecreating larger works. Others like it because the size isn’t daunting and theyfeel they can do anything. We have had embroidered pieces, constructions, prints, photographs, action paintings, collages, poems and many othercreations. Many visitors commented that they were amazed at the imaginativecreativity of the exhibitors. Now it’s your turn to have a go! Look up theHarwich Festival website and find out the details. There is plenty of time, they don’t have to be delivered until the second week in June. It will onlycost you £1.00 per each entry and you can do as many as you like.
